The Conch Republic Battle for Independence
Join forces this Friday, April 27th to help the Conch Republic stand their ground against the the US Border Patrol in the annual mock battle of the Conch Republic. Load up on ammunition (wet Cuban bread) and suit up in your fatigues (rain gear) and head down to the harbor to join in the revelry. The harbor will be filled with boats of all shapes and sizes, who will toss rotten food at each other and those on the sidelines, in a grand re-enactment of our succession from the the Union in the 1980's. Just another event proving the zany and fun loving lifestyle of the locals, there is truly no event like it anywhere else in the world. The Key West Harbor is the place to be, and all able bodies are commanded to meet a 6pm to watch the fun begin. After the battle make your war-weary way to Schooner Wharf Bar for the Victory Party and Surrender Ceremony at 9pm. Music by Homemade Wine, one of the hottest up-and-coming bands, will play the night away and a Margarita never tasted so good after a day on the front lines.
